Kondou Eihachirou was my favorite hammer blacksmith, basically not famous at all even in Japan, but the quality was great. He fell down the staircase in his house and was forced to retire about a year ago....

These were shiny migaki finish but I like matt black rustic looking finish better, which Kondou-san didn't make, so I seasoned it myself spending about half year. It turned out beautiful. I am thinking of changing the handles to my handmade ones, either gumi or quince.
