One of the rare Tokyo blacksmith who is still in production. Tanaka Ichirou is the blacksmith for Osahiro brand. He is over 80 years old, so he has once retired but there were so many carpenters requesting him to make chisels and plane blades, with his wife's persuasion he has come back, and producing tiny amount of chisels and plane blades.

Nagahiro cannot make this kind of size anymore. This an old stock from 10 years ago, the box made recently.

This one is super expensive, so if you are after similar quality but not wanting to spend multi thousand $, try Kiyohisa! It is as good and the price is less than half. You can order with or without the kiri box. I'll be uploading the photos of Kiyohisa's pair in another page soon.
