Takashiba is popular among carpenters for thinly laminated very hard steel. These are White Steel #2. Easier to sharpen, good for daily heavy use.

Very thinly and beautifully laminated. The ear of the steel is wrapped around the corner very neatly. The overall thickness of the head is made a little thicker (heavy duty) than Oouchi.
