Tasai family
has been making state of art chisels for many decades now. The father Akio
is such a pleasant person to be with. He is always bursting with big smile
as if life is always so sweet for him. The son Michio is another amiable
person as much as his father. Very dexterous blacksmith already at age of
38, he has even passed the national test and became a certified swordsmith,
spending 8 long years of training under the renouned master swordsmith Takano
Yukimitsu. Tasai's production is in my oppinion in it's peak now. Everything
that they produce boast high quality and absolute beauty. Tasai uses specially
ordered Blue Steel which is between #1 and #2, thus I call it Blue #1.5.
They treat the steel with special tempering process, so even though the
steel is Blue Steel it is relatively easy to sharpen. |
