Kanmaki (sometimes abbreviated to Kan) means "Wrapped Rings" refering to the Saturn's ring like pattern. This ring when the contrast between the light and dark is too strong it tends to be scratchy, but when it is light as this one, it induces more cutting strenght thus considered to be a good trait. A bit hard to see but there is a stamp of Kyoto Natural Stone Association at the top. This is a selected stone that is higher in quality, but the price is not so expensive because of the size.

A little faint but the stamp of Kyoto Natural Stone Association can be seen at the top centre of the stone.
